You would have to reinstall Windows in most cases if the SATA Native Mode setting is disabled, and you have to enable it. The only other thing I can recommend if you have not done so already, would be to max out the memory to 2 x 2 GB of PC2-6400 or PC2-5300 memory, and make sure that SATA Native Mode is enabled in the BIOS for best hard drive performance. Other folks have installed different model SSD's in their nc6400's with various results-most not good. I installed a 120 GB Intel 535 SSD in my nc6400 because I was able to get one for only $60.00.
